Empowering Women and Girls Through Training, Media and Provision of Safe Spaces
Nistawi Women’s main purpose is to empower women, young people, and families—particularly from African and Caribbean backgrounds—to overcome inequality, improve wellbeing, and participate fully in society. We are dedicated to promoting gender equality, tackling social exclusion, and building stronger, more connected communities through inclusive and creative approaches.
Our current activities include health and wellbeing workshops, support groups, and personal development sessions that help individuals build confidence and resilience. We also run community engagement projects addressing issues such as FGM, gender-based violence, and racial inequality, while promoting safety and empowerment.
Through cultural, creative, and educational programmes, we celebrate diversity and encourage understanding between communities. Additionally, we provide training and skills development opportunities to enhance employability and leadership, and work in partnership with local organisations, schools, and faith groups to strengthen community cohesion and positive social change..
